Assetto Corsa is one of those _niche_ titles that has its focus set on driving dynamics, simulating the physics and feel of driving to the n-th degree (where possible). Technically it is a racing game. it takes inputs, computes them and shows a representative output on a dot-matrix display. "Thus it is a video-game" - one could argue. Honestly I don't know. Maybe it's because the controller is 2 channels but you need 3 (steering, brake, throttle)? But in that case the throttle should still work. In the end it could be that content manager works with your wacky controller but the actual assetto game doesn't. I'm no expert on assetto or controllers so I really can't help much. I'm the guy who moved to Assetto Corsa from Forza very recently. I'd say, Assetto Corsa is very playable with controller as long as you have proper controller settings. I own my copy of Assetto Corsa since 5 years ago. But I kinda didn't like Assetto Corsa because it was too hard to control with controller. Lmao these sims literally state they only have partial controller support. Look up some controller setups I’ve heard some people get it working pretty decent for them.
